Mohan, You are right on target. Every company is susceptible to earnings disappointments, and every company's value is determined by investors expectations of the future. Singling out Dell is foolish. If Dell fails to meet expectations or if expectations are lowered the price of the stock will fall.

That's also true of Sears and AT&T and GE and ...

No company is immune, and so Jim's arguments are really just a tautology.
