<An 8-9 day delay spells stalling.>

You may be right. I hope IDTI Mgt takes a larger write-off this time anyway to set up more favorable financial backdrop in the next 3-6 months and into 1999.

Have similar thoughts.

They could want Intel to announce how their fat margins have tanked (they may try to lie about it and say that everything is the blame of Asia and/or slack market demand and inventory adjustments in the industry) and how tough competition has become before having to explain why they don't have a handle on their business and have few prospects for seeing production results or profits anytime soon from the WinChip.

On the other hand, management has been under pressure to try to produce results and they may be willing to give the parts away to a major OEM in exchange for production commitments. There is a slight chance they will come through with a real winning deal and reports of great performance on the WinChip roll-out plan. At this point, my faith in the company is battered and torn and needs some encouragement to show begin to itself again.
