Stox19, much of the work talking place by ALYD to increase shareholder value is being done quietly behind the scenes. As ALYD said at the shareholders meeting, they are taking great pains to get their story out to institutions and analysts. Institutions find comfort in numbers. The key is to get the ball rolling, which ALYD has done recently with the help of Hanifen Imhoff and First Albany. They are making every effort to be sure analysts like Sean Kelly in Switzerland, who believe in them and who stick their necks out for them, will not regret it.

Again, as ALYD said at the shareholders meeting, they are well aware of the image of Y2K companies being one-hit wonders and thus have made post Y2K strategy and related acquisitions a top priority. Over the next year and a half I expect R&D to be quite active in preparing to catch the next wave of technology.

All this stuff is probably not important to people who just want the stock to jump to a certain level so they can get out. However, it is important to institutions who buy and hold. It is important because it establishes a base of believers who aren't going to panic on a dip and sell. When shorts realize that, by and large, the stock has found its legs and is going to keep creeping up, that's when they get squeezed.

Of course you toss in a few contract announcements and Clinton speaking about Y2K and, well, that certainly can't hurt!

P.S. I'll be in Charlotte from Saturday night until Monday afternoon on non-ALYD related business. Perhaps if there's a sports bar in Charlotte that will be showing the game we can meet there.
