Bungie Previews Myth II for Mac At MacWorld

FYI:
"At Bungie's booth today, crowds were wowed by a pre-alpha version of Myth II: Soulblighter. The textures were smoother, the characters more detailed and more impressive than ever, and the game play was exactly what we've come to expect from Bungie -- second to none.

Interestingly, between two fully equipped Pro boxes with 21" monitors and Voodoo2 3DFX cards, an iMac was the weapon for many a victory. While its tragically small mouse (perfect for small childrens' hands, however) aided in Ryan's first downfall (followed by his even more dramatic one [mirror] on the other machine, suggesting that his defeats had nothing to do with the cool little machine) at the hands of the ApolloNet crew and a couple of unseen players on the other side of the booth." As reported in MacOS Rumors

TDFX for Macintosh platform is coming.

Hal

PS: Incidentally, Techworks, contrary something mentioned here, will come out with a Voodoo II board I am told. They, among others are waiting for final drivers being designed in England. Reading between the lines, I expect product to ship during the last two weeks of this month. Board hardware is already assembled and awaiting shipment. This means that TDFX is already selling chips destined for Macintosh. HR

Tae, the only thing sad going on here is the thought that 3D cards are only bought to run Quake II and Unreal. "Fell victim..." what are you talking about...?

It's OK to admit that a $99 card runs 2D as fast as a Matrox Millenium II, and D3D faster in most cases then a dedicated V2 3D card...costing how much...$200-250. ....and it "only" runs Quake II at 40 FPS vs 63 FPS for the dedicated $200-250 "3D only" V2 card.

If I was attempting to "sell" that type of logic I would be worried.
