I went ahead and signed up for Netscape's Business Journal by NEWSEDGE. It is free, of course and as an old user of NEWSPAGE by INDV I can report that it is in essence identical to NEWSPAGE. The deal here of course is the old real estate theme of "location, location, location". Netcenter is one of the two or three most heavily hit sites on the net. It may not be apparent this week (though i bet it is discussed at the conference call after earnings) but this is really good news for the longterm. I also liked that as part of the registration they asked me if i was interested in learning more about Newsedge's corporate solutions. Clearly the strategy is to get them in the door and "upsell". I expect a reiteration from management this week of both the "upsell" theme and the "economies of scale" theme. All that being said, when the numbers come out the revenue growth and sources of that growth will probably remain more important for this quarter than the eps figure. I will be watching the expense side closely also as hopefully some of the economies of the merger may be just beginning to show. Crossing my fingers. rod
