Steve --you pan Netscape management with what?

Barksdale's lifestyle and interest in self worth and reward. He still won't draw a salary.I'd say his compensation is performance pegged.

Corporate arrogance and smugness; (startling revelation in Silicon valley, I agree-)

and the vague slow to respond to the most fluid ...you mean internet time or something?

Hey man, I just asked you to use some examples of mismanagement by nscp officials..

which you haven't done, have you? The book was offerd to you as a
alternative to your poorly doc'd views.
Please don't take my remarks poorly.
I mean who would you want to see in Jim's shoes anyway?
And what is a company supposed to do when directly in path of a raging elephant?
There is no precedent in the case.

Steve--Talking about the top managers in Netscape, I have to agree with you somehow. As what I believed before, Barksdale should not be considered as a good businessman based on the performances of Netscape in recent years. However, he is a good leader to identify the right products for the markets although Netscape did miss the portal sevices for two years. Yes, Barksdale need to learn how to establish relationships with the Street and how to get the help from the Street. I think the recent moves made by Barksdale was very good. I believe these moving has set a turning point for Netscape. The key thing for Netscape is to catch up Yahoo to make the Netceter to be used as freindly as Yahoo's. I feel confident on the performance of NSCP in the near future and wish it will outperform other no-browser portals one or two years later. Good luck!
