BMI using Signal software on the Internet for $150 per month including Level II for the price of annual subscription at $1800, not including exchange fees. They offer one month free to evaluate their service. They also have cable and satellite, but I do not know the prices. This service will provide you with just about any quote available: stock, stock options, futures, options on futures, options on indices, including foreign exchanges, for the cost of the associated exchange fee. No set up fees, free downloadable software Signal which is a classic very functional pro level application, and has been in the business for over 20 years. Their T&S goes back to the beginning of day and one minute data goes back 5 days. You can also hook up a pager service to your subscription.

DTN Realtime provides stock and stock option quotes and includes a free real-time news feed for about $120 plus a setup fee depending on the type of service: satellite, cable, or Intenret. I hear their newer Internet service is having trouble. For cable, setup fee is something like $399 which includes their Chameleon front end software. A $89 setup fee for their Internet service. Their cable service is compatible with other types of 3rd party software. I have one person that I know of who finds the satellite version of the service to be reliable. He used to be with the more expensive BMI. It appears DTN comes with a terminal that for a small extra monthly fee will pass the data thru to software on the PC. The Internet service is not compatible with any software other than their own which seems to have just basic functionality and unable to save data like T&S to a file. Also one salesman there told me the T&S goes back only several ticks, so no T&S history even for the current trading day.

I would stay away from most Internet provides. PC Quote is popular but very costly ala carte pricing. To get same as BMI with level II you need to pay $300 per month which is becoming absurd due to price competition between services. Quote.com is entirely web based, not nearly as functional, and sometimes I have had trouble getting in. But the price is very cheap, and I do like the way they use the ticker with the charting together.

If you are looking for an order execution system too there is MB Trading and AB Watley that can help here. But I am not familiar with the functionality of their systems or their price for low volume traders.

I am going to try out BMI on the Internet in the near future and then move to cable down the line.
