I think it makes more sense for a "glory stock" like Amazonutty.com that has high implied volatility - very high premiums. I first tried to short it but saw that there was no flexibility in doing that - when the price soared above 120 or 130 all available shares were soaked up. The options were extremely attractive - some fools thought this thing would go up forever just because it had gone up in the previous several days and weeks. It was better than sorting it because you not only were getting the price decline but you were also making the shrinking margin for volatility. Now I'm glad I couldn't find any share to short.
