Anyone have problems with the quotes lately? I've been finding missing quotes, quotes that are off some 20% (AMEX), the quote list regressing to ones I haven't used for a long time (probably one server was restored using another server's information).

Then there's the classic servers... :P I just wish I can see quotes on more than 1/2 the page on a 800x600 resolution..

Well, back to work..

>> There is no way I will trust Datek to administer checkwriting

Well, um, Barb, well, check. I firmly agree. DATEK has
been very prompt in responding to web check requests in
the past few months, so who needs more "Datek competence"
in check writing?

Picture this: One of your stocks you hold long is halted for news. This promptly causes the value to plummet to 0 the way that Datek calculates your account value (bid/ask is 0 * 0). This causes you to have less funds than are needed to clear the check. Do you think the check won't bounce?

Barb, I'm not sure this will be an issue. I have had two other brokers that did checking, and for both you could only write checks against your cash balance. If you exceeded this, the check would bounce. Just like a standard checking account. I don't think a check is considered a marginable loan, as your post suggests.

BTW, the brokers were Discover and Fidelity.

A check book? (what is that?)
I haven't written a paper check in over two years.
Datek's wire transfer works great, and my bank lets we do all my bill payments electronically (HomeLink with BankBoston).
