Yeah, I think AMAT is going to be a big drag on technology come Monday. As much as I hate the way analysts and uninformed traders lump tech stocks together the fact remains they do. AND, AMAT disappointing news after the close, although it in no way is a reflection on the networkers may hold us in check.

I guess you could twist it around and say that for chip companies, it is not such a bad sign that they are able to save costs and meet production with current equipment for the next quarter. Long term though, not good. New equipment means ramping up volume...or improving technology.

Maybe.....but the AMAT announcement wasn't a big surprise.....was actually expected by many analysts/traders/individuals. ASND was moving on its own today ie: not with the market or even networkers.

I think the market will continue to move on a stock by stock basis. This rising tide damn sure hasn't lifted all boats......and one sinking ain't going to sink them all
