If CPQ disappoints, it shouldn't affect DELL for more than a day or two, if at all. Even if you manage to duck a 2-4 point Dell drop, this close to earnings it could easily pop back up 5 pts the next day before you get back in. I made all of those mistakes last year. This year I'll just wait patiently for the top when they report earnings.

David,

I havent been on since Fri, so now I will tell you my 2 cents about CPQ.

I have been wrong about a few other tekkies, and right about a few, but I think CPQ will miss. I am totally sure that numbers have been lowered like crazy, and the stock hasnt done much since then, while DELL has gone from the 80's to over 100, a nearly 30 percent jump :)

I plan on trading it like I ought to have in the past. In this case, Tuesday before CPQ announces I might sell the DELL position I have, and enter at the lows of the next day. If I miss out on a lucky CPQ bounce, that is ok..

Thats my opinion..
