Michael and our technical crews on this board,

1) What does these "samples" mean here? Does it mean that QCOM and its customers can design and put the chipsets into a new handset within 6 months without going to the sixth generation chipsets without any problem? Or does it mean this is a test only sample QCOM and its customers have to test first before they can design a new handset.

2) What is the time frame from sample, design, test, and commercialize a new product?

"As predicted and on schedule, we are shipping samples of our new MSM3000, IFT3000 and IFR3000 CDMA chipset enabling our customers to continue their fast-paced development of new highly optimized CDMA products. QUALCOMM has again delivered a superior solution with higher performance, lower power consumption and more versatile capabilities than our competitors. This is an important step in allowing our customers to design even more feature rich CDMA handset and data products with confidence," said Donald Schrock, president of QUALCOMM's ASIC Products Division.

TIA
