Bob, good to see you here... and good post.
I think my contribution to this thread is the people I've managed to bring together so far... small group, but good people...

Glad to have you in MESI... It may be brought out on one of the big threads on Tuesday... If it is brought out by the picker himself, well that is a good thing... By buying smart (which we all are) the price is staying reasonable and everyone can get in...

I know that we are responsible for 32,400 shares today. Not bad... a little more on Monday in small lots, and Tuesday could be interesting.

MOOP, the only thing that made me crap in the bed was the float.. now it turns out that it is 6x what I thought it was... I put it out for the MOMO thread, if they all get in, I will too, but this is not the sort of thing I want to do...

LOMI lots of time to look it over under and inside out. Nice sized float, not too big not too small... I hardly think we will buy a big percentage of it, but we can sure do better then the avg daily volume... (less than 5000 shares) If suddenly it starts to do 10k -15k shares a day for a week (is there a better rate for us to buy in???) it will get some attention...

I am going to start trying to get some at 1.... I may be dreaming, but that would be cool....

I have funds coming in early next week (I am fully invested for now), and they will go to MESI, LOMI and my old friend NUKE... Maybe a little ALYA as well...

cheers

MG

gaj, pleasure to meet you. I see your integrity in your words. You bring up some excellent points and I think it is important to address them. Here goes:

"20 something people can't move a stock by themselves. they can get one rolling - *maybe*. if everything's done right, and then 'spreading the word' o a. the question is...since I'm assuming most people here have been victims of p&d, do you want to perpetuate that to others?"
The intent of this group is to privately 1)identify, 2)select, 3)purchase and publicly discuss quality small stocks. I don't plan to participate in 'junk' stocks with P&D hype schemes. There are many 'undervalued' legit stocks out there, too many... If we are good at picking the winners and we don't get greedy, we'll simply be bringing attention to an undervalued situation...that's key.

The reality is that everyone is trying to get everyone else's money...the company is trying to get ours, shareholders are trying to get each other's, and on and on. We need to find beat up little co's that are underpriced. I have no problem buying at a low and selling on the way up...I've sold many WAY too soon. That's the nature of the game. I think a huge benefit of the team is the open/unbiased sharing of info. If we all trust each other, we can get some awesome DD done.

"more importantly...complete dedication is needed, and the optimal
way for anyone to buy/sell a lot of shares is buy them in groups (not all at once) on the way up, and then *before* it peaks, sell into
the others' buying. otherwise, when selling the clump, the
price automatically will go down (if selling on the downside).
i'm just stating that so that no one goes bonkers buying all at
once. what the MMs will do if they see that is raise the ask
only....and, then when selling begins, lower the bid only. they're
no fools."

Agreed. That's the advantage of the small group with several stocks. I think today's buys were reasonable (a little anxious, but reasonable). As far as sells go, I realize that first-in should be last out. It would also be good to do this when volume is high. I'm in early on s1, and willing to wait for those in after me at a higher price that want to sell first. As long we're picking winners, and the group does not get too big, there will be plenty to go around. I'm in no hurry, the key is picking a good co...and verifying it's potential.

"it's better (as wayne mentioned) to go into stocks which *have* volatility already...it's a lot easier to move a rock which is in motion than to start pushing one."
This is a good point, I think our analysis/selection board MG, Wayne, yourself? and whoever MG feels right about, need to take this into consideration. We all can't select a stock...I think to defer this to a smaller section of us is best. However, a focussed discussion of the pros/cons on the 'hit' board is necessary while we begin staggered buying. There's always the chance we get a bomb and everyone that is buying decides to run for the door...that's life and human nature.

"i'm also very scared of stocks which have done, or are thinking about doing, reverse splits." Me too. This is one of the 'bombs' I referred to in the above sentence. RS is total BS...and I trust everyone on this team agrees with that.

gaj...specifics

"i'm no fan of MOOP." I passed on MOOP

"i'm going to get 1K or 2K of MESI on monday." so far it looks good to me.

"if people want to get the word out, don't, don't, *don't* hype it."
I wholeheartedly agree...no BS. The value of our team will be the unbiased sharing of information...this is priceless!"

"finally, someone said 'don't bookmark this thread so we won't be
found by the HOT topics' - is that true?" I don't think it matters much...they won't know what we're talking about anyway. I looke up one of the codes and it is a legit ticker! Funny thing is that it looked pretty good<g>. We have plenty to work with so I won't even bring it up...

So far it looks like we have an excellent group forming here, let's give it a chance...there's plenty for all of us!
