I don't believe that we are seeing buy on the rumor and sell on the news here at all. Many institutions, as well as, individual investors have been waiting patiently on the side lines for a signal that Compaq was stabilizing and that they are back on track. Well the time has arrived ad the technicals are showing strong accumulation. People are convinced not only of a bottom here but that their money wont be sitting idle for an extended period of time. The only thing that will stiffle the run will be a bad earnings surprise. If I know CPQ, they guided the analysts lower so they can surprise to the upside!

Steve, Steve/Hpeace/TAO works for technical intelligence(?) for CPQ in Scotland, I believe. He sent me a PM when he was going, that's now since been erased by SI from my folder.
