TraderBoy: Congrats on doing your homework. I have never taken one of those daytrader course but I am sure it couldn't hurt. The key would be to learn on the same software you plan to use at home. I do not know anything abut Insight Securities, but I believe if you read the SI SOES Trading thread there are alot of traders who have discussed these types of courses and what to look for.

Also remember that almost everyone paper trades at a profit and real trading is very different. The reason being is that it is virtually impossible to simulate the problems you will have executing trades and the corresponding stress that effects your decision making.

I will give you one technique that I have found some day traders point to as one of the reasons of their success. Do not start with a wad of cash. Earn your stake by trading. What you will learn by doing it this way will help prepare you for the full-time experience day trading. If you cannot get your stake together in this way, then IMO this should tell you something about your future success in trading full-time.
