Was wondering if someone could make a recommendation as to a good real-time news service at a reasonable cost. I currently get real-time quotes so they aren't necessary. Does anyone have any experience with Split Express???

Thanks in advance...

I am currently using Web Street. Since you tend to trade less then 1,000 shares you will pay 14.95 per trade. For 1,000 shares of a NASDAQ stock trading at over $2.00 the trade is commission free. Web Street claims to fill market orders in 6-10 seconds. My experience is that is on target. Fill reports often come back within thirty seconds. I don't think you can do #7 with any electronic trade (ie.internet) until you get a confirmation back. With Web Street you place your trade and get your confirmation back all on the same web page. I would call them with your list and see where they can match up with your requirements. Good luck!

Snowman: Forget about Web Securities. They do not provide the execution speed that is necessary for Day Trading. You will want to use a broker which provides one of these 3 systems with an order module built into the software:

1)Real Tick III
2)CyberTrader
3)Tradecast

For a list of brokers who use these systems go to the Final Frontier Links which is accessible at the top of this subject page or on my profile.

Also remember that almost everyone paper trades at a profit and real trading is very different. The reason being is that it is virtually impossible to simulate the problems you will have executing trades and the corresponding stress that effects your decision making.
