By VLAD, you got it!

Great or good products + poor management = poor sales

History has recorded hundreds of similar marketing cases that support this formula including; Evista, Betamax and the MAC computer (still claimed better than the PC by almost all of its owners!).

Under different management and marketing strategies, these products probably would have been much more viable and successful ie; the radio in face of competition from television.
