>>When I was taking a math course in tenth grade, our class came up with a silly bunch of words to go along with 314159..., and, even though it has very little to do with my life, I can still vividly remember it, and ... you are WRONG ! It is 31415926535, so rounded it is 31415927.

I don't know what number you guys are referring to, or what math class you took. Maybe you need to add a decimal point after the three.

:-)

***off topic*** Jon, I like my predictions to be accurate and pi is part of the wave function calculations to derive the subscriber numbers, 12month revenue and expected stock prices. There is a lot of pi in conics and conic sections, hence it tends to be part of the answer, especially in Globalstar related astronomical issues.

Your 31415926535 figure isn't quite right in this instance because you need to adjust for the earth orbital effects of the Globalstar satellite launches which are taking place [and other satellites]. The successful Zenit launch, yesterday, which boosted Globalstar's price a dollar because people realized the damn things might actually work for the Globalstar launches, altered the orbital period of the earth. That's because they always launch satellites in the northern hemisphere and usually in the direction of earth's rotation and you get a little mass loss from earth, with its attached momentum while the rocket is in space - the exhaust being lost in space, the satellite hanging around.

Your 31415927 figure is WRONG!!! You can't round it to such a coarse measure. Jon - if you want to make money in the stock market instead of bond trading, you'll just have to be more precise and not use your 10th grade 'silly bunch of words' to do your calculations.

Those bloody algorithm traders with their hot-shot puters use a LOT of significant figures.

I'd like to be more accurate on the $80 31 July figure, but it is tricky to predict the stockmarket - as many of us know.

$80 is near enough I reckon!

[Wow, I was watching CNN and you should see how many roubles they are printing in Russia - they are printing it as paper money too, not just digits in a computer from the Fed to big borrowers. Dow 16000 soon enough = Feb 2002]

Hi Croc Dundee! With nearly all analog in Australia and a high cellular user %, there is going to be a rapid transition to cdmaOne and then cdma2000. Thanks for that info - I suppose it is an order from Ozphone, which is part of SpinCo, so not strictly an order from outside. But there will be quite a few cdmaOne networks in Oz apart from Ozphone's so there should be plenty of orders.

Meanwhile, can it be true that PHS is going to be ditched in Japan? That is a LOT of handsets to be replaced. Anyone who has wandered around Japan will know how many there are - just everywhere.

ooopss Croc! you posted your message twice! And got the page right off the screen on the second attempt....better luck next time.
