OK, so now you have my attention. BTW, I did do a detailed analysis of a Viasoft product, but perhaps you missed it: Message 4995873

As you know, my posts tend to focus on the technical side of a company, rather than whether I think the price will go up or down on a given day. Therefore, unless I've done extensive research on a company, I don't like to post things that I might regret later.

Besides, I can think of no better expert on VIAS than TEDennis. I'm sure he's told this story dozens of times in the early days of this thread, but what's one more time?...

You see, TED used to work in the copy shop around the corner from VIAS. One day he was there fixing a copier there when the mainframe went down. As VIAS had a deadline to meet, they decided it was worth the risk to see if TED could get it back on-line, which he did by replacing a blown fuse. TED figured he could make some money doing this so he bought a mainframe for himself which he installed in his garage. The rest is history.

Well, there's more to this story, but I'll let Kevin Watson tell it as he's more familiar with it than I am. Too bad TED is on vacation without his PC or else I'm sure he'd love to do so himself.

Hope this helps!
