Here is a "picture" that I really like.:) It shows how you can't escape if you buy and hold for any length of time. The next to last column shows the decrement of each stock in the group from its high point in 1997. It shows that all of them are down and most of them "big time". The last column though, shows how much gain is required just to get back to the 1997 high.
