Plexus received lots of congratulations on their Q4 at the cc.Sees 15% internal growth for 99 but is looking at asset purchases or other acquisiton but wouldn't say more. Margins for Q4 were terrific at 14% gross due to business mix primarily. Less Transportation and more teledata com. Ascend was largest customer with their ATM switch and will be continuing and growing. The Motorola story is interested. Motorola is reversing course and now deciding to outsource more again. Good chance for PLXS with one other bidder for the business in their cellular division.Could be a 200 mill plus deal. For 1999 see Gross margin at about 13.7 to 13.8.So company looks solid especially if they expand by acquisition. Need Geographic diversity but staying in US. They have lots of room in Green Bay with Oneida which is running only at 20%. On the general ECM topic they saw OEM attitude towards more outsourcing and an accelerattion in this occuring. Sees Q1 seasonally soft at 100 mill with improvent thereafter.Key for company is their technology design group whose billables are growing at 30% and expanding people. For example in Raleigh going from 20 to 40.This group is expected to feed the manufacturing which is 80% of revs.Tax rate high at 39.7 percent which is a disadvantage to the likes of FLEXF at 11% IMO.Medical is a big opportunity and one of PLXSs niches. I think they will buy some facilities in 99 and I bet they buy HDCOs extra design facility in Boston. They mentioned Boston and Dallas but wouldn.t mention names.I think they will beat the estimates of 1.40 for 99. They have a great balance sheet
