Preacher Dennis,

OT..OT

I am in your choir. Have been a long time.

Consider this also. Over the years I have taken correspondence courses, audio/workbook coursed, Video/workbook courses and recently Knowledgebase courses on CD ROM. At the end of each of these courses was an exam. The results of the exam led you back to areas of weakness. The sophistication of these courses has become awesome.

I just bought Martin Prings " Introduction to Technical Analysis" which is a tutorial on CD-ROM (with workbook). It is great. Has interactive Q&A at end of each section. Makes great use of Audio/Visual. This is an example of what most content courses could be.

Some course work in high school and college requires teacher/moderator presence. Discussion and varied opinions still cause a more fertile thought process and as such will be around for a long time.

I see no reason (other than self serving Teachers Unions and lazy, self centered, uncaring parents) why education can't take the next logical step... The internet and self paced CD-ROM instruction.

We in industry have seen the education light. Why can't the education ESTABLISHMENT? Education means profitability in industry and hence has a $$$$ value; it has a ROI. IMHO, most parents seldom think in terms of just more that getting Johnny through high school. The quality of that educational journey seems of little import to them. There are, of course, the ten percenters who become actively involved the education of their children.

Until more parents become interested in the child's education, we are doomed. The government will end up doing it more and more.

Just my cynical empirical experiences.

RIch

****off topic*****
LOve your ideas.
Add to that no compulsory schooling past 8th grade: work permits available at age 12.

Make it a real privilege to learn.
Have a great weekend.
Going to see Armegeddan tomorrow to support one of my other companies (GGGGG) Not a performer like Dell as a stock, but a leader in the industry.
