Excuse me, but wasn't the original decline in ORCL back in late '97 attributed to the Asian Flu? In fact, isn't true that the last two quarter's EXCELLENT eps reports a result of good management of exposure to the Asian Flu (which is a joke of a reason to begin with)?
If ORCL is rebounding on the basis of SAP falling prey to the Asian Flu, that puts ORCL 6 months ahead of the curve, in my book....SAP SHOULD have been able to deal with the situation, particularly if they knew it existed.

Re: ORCL and MANU

What I've read on several boards concerning buyout seems pure speculation. I saw one post on Yahoo I think where somebody had lunch with a MANU employee, and a $46 share price was mentioned.

Someone else that I'd never seen post on the MANU board over there mentioned a buyout price by someone else at $50.

MANU may be in play, but given the info above I think its still pure speculation.

FWIW,

Shane - still wishing I'd have picked up a little MANU at 24, buyout or not.
