Mark- Its probably a little late for the WSJ article. I perhaps could have been more careful a few years ago when I learned about the company, did some research and was able to quantify its tremendous potential.

I invested too much too soon and lost heavily. What I didn't allow for is the complexity of automating the production or how long it would really take. There probably were some nimble traders who sold when they determined the stock was overbought and triggered volatility.

I personally believe the company's recent press releases and conference call statements - that they are finally making the transition from R&D to mass production. I therefore have been acquiring as many shares as I can lately.

If I were to start over again today, I would again invest very heavily in this company, except I would have twice as many chips!

I lost more than 1 1/2 times the value of my home by getting in too soon. I have every right to be bitter, but remain convinced of the upside potential. So, in my opinion, the WSJ article could apply to some situations, but is inappropriate to describe Valence's current state of affairs.

IMO the stock has been beaten down to unrealistically low levels, largely because so many have simply gotten tired of waiting and were vulnerable to negative suggestions. When positive news comes it now seems to take a while to sink in. When it does, we should be be pleased to own as many shares as we do. Perhaps Friday's close at 5 1/8, up 1/4, is an indication.

A very thoughtful post, but I am wondering, can you point me to a thread for a stock for which you are long where you have p osted the same warnings? Or does your warning only apply to stocks you, personally, don't like?
