Doesn't care about what? As an add-on, Zip doesn't need floppy compatibility because there's already a floppy. Take away the floppy and I think people would start to care. (Case of iMac and laptop).

Exactly. If long time investors were betting on zip wiping out the need for a floppy immediately then that may have been a foolish bet. Zip was always intended to co-exist with the floppy for the first few years - like 5 1/4" and 3 1/2". zip was always superior to floppy, and market share numbers indicate that zip is superior to the LS-120.

You may disagree, which is great and you should be on that, but the data to date indicates that the past floppy is not suitable for future computing. Zip has dissplaced it. Sony may have a superior product, but it's still vapor and is still Sony owned. If you remember the EZ135 was also bigger and faster than zip, but that's ancient history.

>>No, and I don't know why you'd need to do that.<<

Just my opinion. We've found that it's easier to have all the data loaded from a zip for a shared laptop. But, if you are evaluating product purchase obivoulsy you have to use your personal needs. The LS-120 wasn't compatible with what we already bought in our environment, or with our service bureaus, or at kinkos.
