downBIG

enjoyed your comments. one of them was that earnings after adjustments was $.74. this might be off. geac's position is that earnings after adjustments was $.62, and that the average of all analysts forecasts was $63 (first call was $.65, but geac says they were wrong!).

i too am long, so i find the rest of your comments quite compelling.

my greatest concern is sadler. i don't know if he's committed, and i don't know if i have the same confidence in the rest of their mgmt. sadler is the acting chairman of helix, and he's on the board at open text, and he's been involved with geac for a LONG time, so i wonder if he's "moving on", even if it's only in spirit.

if he does plan on staying, the recent fallback might be incentive for him to "check back in", and he certainly should get some options at a very reasonable strike price!!

at $40, i don't think there is ANY downside, unless sadler decides to move on!

DownBig, IMHO,, the chart does not read well... If it doesn't hold here, it could have another fair drop. BWDIK,, I just go with the flow...Last couple of days , I tried picking bottoms only to reverse in the nick of time to short again..

chart.canada-stockwatch.com

Forty was sort of my mental target the first time it tumbled, appears that there should be resistance there , which in fact is showing up, HOWEVER, (theres that word again), if this is the bottom it sure isn't difficult to get as much as you want...Also, it is fairly normal to at least attempt a reversal on the third day down...

I have been caught on this stock both ways several times, it is quite the bronco...

rather than make an acquisition, why not be acquired !!

everyone has been focusing on geac making an acquisition. at these prices, perhaps geac is a target itself!!

it's trading at a low multiple. alot of shareholders would be willing to get out after the recent collapse of the stock. it would allow sadler to get out completely, if that is his desire. they have alot of cash, a large customer base, recurring revenues .....

comments anyone?
