Wrong. TA by itself is not the answer otherwise every technician would be rich. However, it can be a powerful tool to aid in analysis , spot trends and help make buying and selling decisions.

Nick,
I've I traded on what I was "taught" in business school, I would have been forced to quit long ago. I left school convinced that the little guy could never beat the market; now, I think the little guy can outperform because he can grab the Excite's and Yahoo's of the world while the big guys are still in the pre-internet mode of thinking.
And yes, TA can play a part in the decision making process if used to supplement your own analysis.
