Believe it or not I put a 1.44 floppy disk in my Zip drive and
fortunately it didn't hurt the drive.

I would like to qualify this statement. When I put the
1.44 floppy disk in my Zip it didn't feel right and I didn't
force it all the way in. I believe that had I pushed the
disk in further it would have damaged the drive.
When we install these drives we try to place them
as far apart as possible in hopes of preventing
such occurrences.
