Philips applied, and was granted, a court order, requiring an internet chat line to release the full identity of those on the line who had posted opinions which were detrimental to the company's share price.

The most likely reason for this pursuit, is that Philips will seek relief through civil litigation, or will frighten off anyone who may wish to post a bearish stock opinion.

So much for the notion of freedom of speech!
