The company is obligated to tell you the number of share outstanding, you must also ask about options and warrants and preferred stock. The 10k will tell you all of these things. That is the annual report, and it is now on EDGAR the gov. site on the internet. The number you are looking for is the "number of shares FULLY DILUTED" Many IR people cannot answer this question, because they don't know, but they should. Once you have a starting point, follow up quarterly or more often.
