The story may never be fully known on this, but I think this much is clear:
-De Guzman was not the main catalyst for the salting and nor did he work alone

so there were other(s) who were intent on making DeGuzman's role be taken to his grave... my theory aside from the Bre-x boys, there was a role played in this by some high ranking Indonisians. Although he played a role in this, he is by far too much of a scapegoat.
