They've got digital stuff in the works, and they'll be issuing new stuff soon. They do earthquake stuff, stuff for TV stations, and airplane stuff. Movie special effects storage stuff. Lots of patents on other stuff, and royalties from this stuff and other stuff they sell pays the bills.
It's a long term play, but they've been making good stuff for years.

There was speculation a while back that at the levels Ampex was trading, then they would possibly position themselves to take the company private. With the recent restructuring of the preferred shares, is this now a possibility? If so, would this be to the advantage or disadvantage for AMPEX? If we as investors, were as seemingly cautious as Mr. Bramson, we would look at all angles both positively and negatively regarding this stock.
