RESEARCH ALERT - Intel Q2 surprise seen

NEW YORK, July 13 (Reuters) - Piper Jaffray said Monday that analyst Ashok Kumar raised
his second quarter earnings estimate for Intel Corp. to a level above Wall Street's consensus, a
day before Intel was scheduled to report results.

-- Raised estimate to $0.70 a share from $0.62. Increase took Kumar's estimate above First
Call's consensus estimate of $0.68 a share.

-- In a note, Kumar cited expectations of strong June sales, fueled by price reductions and
special pricing deals, for his expectation Intel would top consensus estimates.

-- Also raised target price to $95 a share from $85, adding, ''The June quarter upside surprise
represents a (short-term) trading opportunity to $85.''

-- Intel is expected to report second quarter earnings after Tuesday's close. Shares of Intel rose
1-5/16 to 81-1/16.

Hi Yaacov. I was away on vacation and just got back late Sunday night. I see that Tony saw your post to me and did the answering. I have not had much time to check all the news but it looks like Intel may be slow a bit longer. Since you are in dream land now and I have to get off here, I will talk to you on Tuesday.

Do you still have CPQ and Intel? I do. I am happier with CPQ at this point. At least I have made some money with it this year.
