CORRECTION! CORRECTION! Sorry -- that should have been September (19th) 1988 and NOT 1989 -- it's been ten fascinating years discovering this truly exciting developing country. February 1989 riots, February 1992 first attempted Coup d'Etat, November 1992 second attempted Coup d'Etat immediately followed by my personal Coup d'Etat by a beautiful Peruvian girl (we married on March 28, 1993).

Then there was the banking sector crisis in which 18 banks went bust and/or were taken over by the government... So many stories and life is so short!

best regards

Dear Mr Carson. I agree with you, Venezuela is a beautiful country. However, I have worked and lived in the kilometer 88 area. The damage was done by illegal miners. It wasn't greed that raped the area. The people who live there know nothing else but mining. That is how they make a living. They don't care about the environment.

I don't believe for one second there was an $23US offer. If so where is the proof? Any web links? Mr Fung was idiot not to accept it. Think about it, 15 million US investment in legals fees and you make 900 million in less than one year, what a deal. Someone fed you BS.

I still don't get it. Help me out here. To reject the offer, than KRY's management must of thought that a take over price should have been higher. Then why did Oppenhemier excerise his options and then immediately sell them at $7US?
