I would think when a company invests at $25.50 per share they feel that the stock is going to go much higher, maybe not in the short term, but certainly in the long term. Wall St. did not seem to like it though, as it dropped 1 1/2 after it was announced.

I know I'm adding to the 5000 shares I currently own. E-trade is serious about creating a 'global financial brand' and $400 million will certainly help. I think it was a great move for all parties, including shareholders.
