sonki, there was interview m. dell done with ibd about 2 weeks ago - in that he said dell only needs to form alliance with service companies but does not need to provide service itself in order to grow server business. he use stats to show that dell has increased its server business much faster than anybody in the business, twice as fast as ibm, yet has not provided any service. on the other hand, he kind of skirts the issue by deliberately mixing the service issue to something totally unrelated, i.e. he defines service also incl "financial service" - leasing. if i can find that article on line I will copy it here.
