Truman, I enjoyed your post, as always. And thanks for the laugh. I listened to him for about 30 minutes, and that was all I could take. I hope that couple can find a competent, fee-only financial planner, to prevent them from making a potentially damaging mistake. And I further hope that somebody else is on this afternoon. Frankly, I'd prefer to hear a re-broadcast of an old Brinker show to more of Mr. Pollan.

Ken

Personnally, I wish I had a large portfolio of 9.5% 30-year Treasury Bonds. If I did, I would certainly not be selling them, unless I wanted to enjoy the proceeds (i.e., spend the money) rather than investing them.

Best wishes,

I2

Gentlemen: We are six months shy of this thread's second anniversary.
Surely, I speak for more than a few here by expressing the hope that
the good fellows here will have resolved the contested issues of this
increasingly rancorous public debate by that time. Embedded in that
hope may be found a wish, perhaps shared by a fair number of lur-
kers and non-combatants alike, that this thread not devolve into
the Silicon Investor equivalent of the legendary 1880's feud between
the Hatfield's and the McCoy's.
