I am thinking of trying Prophet data. Here is a post from its president (??) in response to some complaints on misc.invest

My name is Tim Knight, and I'm the president of Prophet. I certainly want to respond to these two customers.

Regarding the bad continuous data on sugar. This has been fixed (it has not been time-stamped, but you will get your refreshed data on Friday, 8/1), but the problem was caused in the first place by one of our data feeds providing data on a dead contract (providing an OHLCV each day on a contract that no longer was really trading). We've improved the updater to discern feed mistakes such as this.

But it DID take to long to correct, and I apologize for that. We dropped the ball. As for the stock database, the problems described didn't address any one symbol, so it's hard for me to hone in on any one problem to find out what's going on. I've given Duane's email to our datagod, Harry, since I'm obviously concerned about it.

We've been in business for 6 years, and while most of our customers are really happy with our service (which is why we are growing every month), there are always going to be problems here and there. I just wanted to make this post because I was really bothered to see my company's named preceded with the word 'Bad' with what appear to be some very legitimate complaints. One problem is fixed. We're working on the other one to see if there really are that many missed splits or gaps in either (a) the database itself or (b) simply the ASCII output of the database.

- Tim

Lachesis, looks like Japan is causing post election waves. July expiration weeks are often volatile. Given the heights we've climbed to on a wall of worry it should be a week full of hazards and opportunity to short term trading... currently to the downside on my indicators.

Check out the new Imax Everest movie.. pretty good, reminded me of that Japanese skier who found out the hard way that a lack of oxygen also meant a lack of air density to fill his parachute.
