>>M/D, Zitel announced early last year they didn't make the tech. breakthrough they had hoped for as I recall. This resulted in a key director resigning and commenting (as reported on CNBC) that they(the team) may use the fully automated solution of a San Fran. based Y2k. company. The point I'm trying to make is whatever work they (the team) may get it is likely going to be contracted to third parties.<<

In early 1997 MatriDigm stated that their "packed binary" method of remediating cobol code was not the preferred method of the "market". They did not state that they "did not make the technological breakthrough they had hoped for". They stated that the "market" seemed to prefer the "windowing method" for cobol remediation and that they would switch gears and pursue that method.

If you are referring to the departure of Ken Titow from MatriDigm, it was never stated whether he resigned or was terminated, only that he left the company. And if you state that CNBC reported that Ken Titow stated that Zitel/MatriDigm was going to use some other company's automated solution, then either you are misinformed or CNBC reported it wrong. MatriDigm IS the automated solution provider. The cobol code that Zitel, BRCP, Northrop Grumman, Logica, Keane, and others send out for remediation gets sent to MatriDigm to be remediated using the MatriDigm MAP2000 solution.

This is incorrect information. If you are basing a short position
on MD not having a product, you are misinformed. MD is NOT using
any third party to convert code for them. Zitl, on the other hand,
is in the position where they can contract with other companies
that do other types of code that Matridigm does not handle. That
might be your confusion.
