Linda, if the 12% effectiveness rate holds up, I tend to doubt that it will be approved by the FDA. If it does get approved, I seriously doubt it will work as well as Viagra. In my experience with patients, Viagra works very well, and, so far, seems very safe if used according to the label. I estimate that about 80% of the patients who have returned for appointments since I originally prescribed Viagra have asked for refills. This is exceptional. Unless some future side effect or other problem arises with Viagra, which is always a possibility with new drugs, it will be very hard to compete with in the next 5 years. Disclosure: I do hold a modest position in Pfizer :-)
