Stockman,

My reasons for selling Vantis have nothing to do with cash, other than preserving what they currently have. The Memory group and Vantis are drawing so much capital away from what is now AMD's biggest revenue producer that I think they should get rid of it.. not to raise money, but to lower losses and debt.

Generating Additional Cash

Don't know for sure, but probably one of three reasons; no four:

-Bank covenants requiring certain ratios be met.
-Dresden. $2 billion cost; is this equipped or just the building.
-Pumping up the stock price.
-Might just want to exit this business.

Does anyone think I'm overstressing the importance of Dresden?
