Regarding ATHM... Not the thread for this but... I have a cable modem, not from ATHM but that is not the point. I don't see the telcos able to offer anything close to what the cable modem offers today. ISDN,DSL,HDSL etc... are promised but lack large scale introduction due to mileage limits to the telco switch. @Home is making deals with many cable co's to offer their service over the lines. There is a large investment required to upgrade facilities, but once connected users get 24x7 connectivity at fast speed(and the cable co can sell other services over this wire). Anyway, it's much more involved that just those points. I just don't see ATHM as a good short till many other factors are resolved.
