Grant,
Interesting essay you wrote. I agree that it probably doesn't make much sense for you to try Buddhism or other spiritual practices, as you seem to be doing well as a Christian. If Christianity makes you a more loving, joyous and compassionate person that's great. But that doesn't mean that Christian practices are right for everyone, as many people have benefited greatly from many different spiritual practices. For myself, I find Buddhist practices the best way to become more loving and compassionate.

In your essay, you write: Ask yourself, "Is there a God in this universe?" What do you mean by God? If God is infinite and beyond concepts, then it is impossible for us to talk or write about God, because by doing so we are conceptualizing him/her. So in that sense, even asking the question is already a mistake!
