Hi Paul; (OT) In world politics, It's not always simple or easy to pick your bed partners. Trying to survive in a world were
Extremist and Militants come in all forms, and often wind up
holding key positions that allows them to act no better than
criminals , who try to hold the world at ransom is more complicated
than I have the ability to write about.
I just think at this time it's in our best interest to help
Russia get on her feet so hopefully they will not find reversing
back to an extreme form of communism as the only way out of
their problems.
But of course if we try to impose an extreme form of capitalism,
I'm not sure I would blame them.
---------------
It's not so easy to resolve issues and priorities that arrive which
often force you to resort to some strange bed partners and
tactics such as if your enemy is my enemy then your my friend.
It's all to easy to paint with a broad brush or adopt a
simplistic solution that looks good but won't work.
Almost every issue has to be taken apart, and to put things in a proper context can at times be beyond the power of my reasoning.
The thing remember best about IKE was his "Sometimes Kings are
not always wise, sometimes they are just there." and I took it
that he was refering as much to himself as to others.
---------------
Tyrants come in all forms too, some times it's safer to live
with the evil we understand, than to rush into the arms of one
we know not.
Generally most of us tend to favor the underdog in a situation,
but how often do we look beyond that to see if the underdog
is nothing but a Tyrant wantabe ?
My heritage on my mothers side was native American, and as I have
spent some time trying to resolve their plight in my mind, I
came across much good and bad on both sides, also I have to keep in
mind the Indians were not saints, and at times they made war on one another with out the white mans encouragement.
Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

A quote that is a favorite of mine,
Only he deserves power who every day justifies it.
:Dag Hammarskjold (1905-1961, Swedish Statesman (U.N. Sec.Gen. 1953-1961)
IMHO he was the greatest statesman the world has produced in this century.

Paul,, OT,,

<<What was it Cuban revolutionary Ernesto "Che" Guevara said? "I am not a
Communist, but the Americans could turn a person into one?">>

I read recently that Castro did not want to be Communist, but was left little choice, when the US embargoed the country.
