I reckon that Crony Tony will appoint a Y2K Tsar to join the Homeless Tsar and the Drugs Tsar and the English Football Team Penalty Taking Academy Tsar. The only plus point is that he will be blamed for the Y2K disaster when it occurs.

Now that the World Cup is over I can look forward to another 4 years of Wales attempting once again to qualify for 2002. But they won't. How on earth could they let little Welsh Michael Owen slip through the net and play for England.

I am glad for France but they will now become more unbearable than ever. I have not seen so many people on the Champs Elysees since France last lost a war or three.

At least I can now settle down and watch the Tour de France for the next three weeks.

By the way, one of my City connections thinks that we, the U.K., have the mother and father of recessions on the way. He thinks that house prices will fall by 50%. The timing is ironic too. About 18 months time he reckons, circa 1/1/2000. Although I think it may be sooner.
Bit annoying really, I have only just recovered from losing a million on property the last time everything went belly up....!!
