Earle Humphreys to Lead Cabletron Service and Support Organization

Cabletron Systems CS today announced the appointment of industry-veteran Earle Humphreys to Executive Vice President of Worldwide Service and Support. Ken Sullivan, who formerly managed service and support, will oversee the company's new SPECTRUM Software Solutions and Services Organization, a unit of the company which will be focused on aggressively expanding Cabletron's presence in the network management market. Humphreys, who was most recently Director of Worldwide Service and Solutions Marketing at Compaq Computers, will report directly to John d'Auguste, Cabletron's President of Operations. Prior to his position with Compaq, Humphreys ran Tandem Computers' service and support organization, helping to develop it into a $500 million business. "I'm pleased to have such a talented individual as Earle Humphreys at the helm of Cabletron's service and support team," said President and CEO Craig Benson. "With the explosion of electronic commerce, high-capacity Internet applications and the integration of voice and data networks, it's more crucial than ever to provide world-class service and support to our customers."
