Zero Effect ***
Amusing at points, clever at points, not a bad flick all-around. I'm not sure if they had a clear idea of characterization, and I wish they had developed the hero a little better...But this Sherlock Holmes modernization is worth a watch on a day when you've got a hankering for a decent story with a bit of uniqueness to it.

Hi James
You saw some good movies.

I just rented Sphere and Phantoms for my husband. Have you seen them?

We saw Traveller and Prefontaine. I loved them both. Maybe Prefontaine is a chick flick? Seeing as how your sisters liked it and not you? He was such a cute little guy, and then he gets smashed flat in his mg <sniff sniff>.

A bit of trivia for you and X.

What 3 movies are based upon the same crime? Moreover, I think all three movies had Academy Award nominations.

All are based upon the criminal career of some dude on Wisconsin in the 1950s, Ed Gein I think his name was.

The answer is:

(drumroll):

Psycho, Manhunter, and Silence of the Lambs.
