Grant, the Gospels were written over a period of time, by men from different religions and cultures, to spread the word of Jesus. In 1945 Thomas' Gospel was discovered, and because it makes Jesus seem introspective and almost Buddhist in many of his statements, it is not popular among Christians. One of the things that troubles me about Christianity is that there seems to be a lot more energy spent spreading a certain version of what happened, than really finding out what the truth was, historically speaking.
