WF, could be, the thought has passed my mind.
I wish I knew more about the strategies that are used
for buybacks. Might be to give a base some support at times...

We are getting due for some more good news from
the COMS PR people. I thought that they might wait
till a lot of the earnings reports have been released,
otherwise the news might go unnoticed from folks
focusing in on MSFT and INTC earnings reports.

I don't think so. The sole reason for share buyback is to cut down on the no. of shares outstanding thus increasing per share earnings. This is the high-tech way of paying a dividend. Usually if everything works out fine, the next thing they will announce is a stock split. This is the same game intel and cisco had been playing for a long time - hopfully coms can play in the same game too.
