I am a nurse and attended a conference in Seattle on this as we are beginning to do this procedure. This is not a cure all and there is strict criteria for the application of this procedure of implanting seeds. The PSA has to be within a certain range. The prostate has to be fairly small and the tumor has to be confined to the gland with no metastasis. It is a good procedure if all criteria are met. The incidence of incontinence (lack of control of the bladder) is less. Also the incidence of impotence is less than if a TUR or a radical Prostatectomy is done. All of these things must be considered. If no one in your area is doing this procedure it definitely is worth seeking the advice of someone who does it.
